Every day, another young life is lost to violence. Another family is shattered. Another future is stolen. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Buffalo Peacemakers stand on the front lines, offering hope where there is despair and protection where there is danger. We step in before another mother has to bury her child, before another young person is pulled into the cycle of violence. But we can’t do this alone.
Your involvement—whether through time, resources, or support—can be the difference between life and death for someone in our community. Join us. Stand with us. Together, we can break the cycle, heal our streets, and create a future where every young person has a chance to thrive.
Here are some things you can do:
Volunteer to personally help. We need…
- Volunteers to help with Holiday and Emergency food distribution.
- Volunteers to help with our tent at the Juneteenth Festival.
- Speakers who can communicate with our HEAT youth on topics such as how to start your own business, how to save money for something you want, how to know what your best skills are, what employers will expect when you come to work for them, how to get a job, how to write a song or a poem… whatever you like to teach.
Volunteer to tie us to a group. We need…
- Volunteers who will bring the Peacemakers story to their faith congregation.
- Volunteers who will link us to their Block Club.
- Volunteers who will tell our story to their business or business organization.
Donate funds. We must raise at least $50,000 each year.
A donation of…
$75 supports the cost of groceries we take to a food-insecure family during a weather emergency.
$150 supports one healthy snack for 50 hungry at-risk teens in our Buffalo HEAT mentoring program.
$250 supports the cost of one Street Engagement Team Mentor doing one night’s work of meeting gang-involved youth and developing a mentoring relationship with them.
$750 supports one week of healthy snacks for 50 HEAT youth at five meetings.
$1,500 supports the cost of our whole Street Engagement Team for one night.
$3,000 provides the cost of repairing our very well-used van.
$5,700 provides expert training for 30 Peacemakers Mentors for six sessions in Trauma Informed Care.
$10,000 provides the cost of producing enhanced communication, website updates, and ongoing social media posts for one year.
$20,000 buys a previously owned van in very good condition with guaranteed service for five years.
